Thunder is a former member of idol group MBLAQ. His real name is Park Sang Hyun. Thunder joined the team as a trainee withdrew from the team just before the debut.
Thunder, who had only prepared vocals since he was a trainee, began training as a rapper from then on to replace the rap part of the trainee who left.
MBLAQ is the first group produced by singer Rain. Their songs “This is War”, “Mona Lisa” and “Y” were extremely popular.
His older sister is 2NE1 Sandara Park, and he said he dreamed of becoming a singer after watching his sister’s debut. He gained recognition as Sandara Park’s younger brother when appearing in KBS Screening Humanity’s “My name is Sandara Park”.
In a program, there was a special corner in which guests called their celebrity family members, but Sandara Park, who was called by Thunder, could not appear due to schedule. When asked “Which MBLAQ member would be the best to be your sister’s boyfriend?“, Thunder caused laughter by replying, “I’d rather die.” He also showed affection for his sister by adding that he wanted to choose his sister’s spouse himself.
Thunder boasts close friendship with IU, HIGH4 Kim Sung Gu and FIESTAR Hyemi. They were members of a group called “Jjuguri” when they were trainees at Loen Entertainment.
He also featured in IU’s 3rd mini album b-side track “Merry Christmas In Advance”. This song has a record of being on various music charts every Christmas season.
Currently, Thunder is active as a rapper and officially announced his four-year relationship with Gugudan Mimi. Their relationship was first revealed through a preview for “Second House 2”, which was released on July 13th. In the preview, you can see Thunder and Mimi sticking together affectionately and asking questions to couple Choi Soo Jong and Ha Hee Ra.
