After two globally successful seasons of individual chef battles, Culinary Class Wars Season 3 will spotlight teams of four chefs representing their own restaurants. The platform announced on January 16 that applications are now open, and only groups from the same restaurant location are eligible. Individuals or teams made up of friends from different workplaces are not allowed although branches of the same restaurant brand may apply together.
Dubbed a “culinary class war,” the show pits underground “black spoon” chefs striving to rise through sheer talent against elite “white spoon” celebrity chefs aiming to maintain their standing. The fierce competition has captured global attention, with both Season 1 and 2 ranking No. 1 in Netflix’s Global Non-English TV Top 10.

Season 2 was particularly praised for introducing unpredictable twists and dopamine-fueled challenges, including the nerve-wracking White Spoon Showdown requiring approval from both judges, brutal team eliminations, ingredient-focused revival rounds, and dramatic one-on-one duels that flipped alliances into rivalries.
The show’s drama lies in more than just cooking it’s about passion, perseverance, and challenging social class through culinary skill. Viewers worldwide were captivated by these emotionally charged stories, culminating in Season 2’s unforgettable finale, where hidden white spoon chef Choi Kang Rok emerged victorious after a powerful comeback. In Season 1, underground chef Kwon Seong Jun stunned audiences by defeating the elite, embodying the underdog spirit of the show.
Returning for Season 3 are director Kim Eun Ji and writer Mo Eun Seol of Studio Slam, the duo behind the show’s previous success. Director Kim shared, “We’re deeply thankful for the love from our global audience. With Season 3, we’re aiming to evolve both the format and entertainment value to meet expectations and deliver another unforgettable season.”
