CUBE Admitted It Knew About (G)I-DLE So-yeon’s ‘Contract Termination’ Lyrics In Advance

Amid the controversy over (G)I-DLE Jeon So-yeon's "End of Contract" rap lyrics, Cube Entertainment has released a new statement.

Cube Entertainment (hereinafter referred to as Cube) said on its official account on the 6th, “Some media reports related to the stage performance of Soyeon’s solo song ‘Is this b**** number?’ are not true, and we have not delivered any official position.”

Cube said, “We apologize and announce an official statement about the fact that individual opinions spread like an official position, causing concern to artist Soyeon and many people who show love and interest in (girls) children,” adding, “We were aware of the stage performance and lyrics of ‘Is this b**** number?’ in advance.”

In addition, he said, “The mentioned time is the end of the contract, and we are discussing the renewal smoothly.”

During the (G)I-DLE’s third world tour solo stage held on the 3rd, Jeon So-yeon performed a performance with the phrase “End of the November contract” on the electronic display, saying, “Should I look at my face/ End of the contract in November/ Who stops me?”

However, Cube emphasized that Jeon So-yeon’s lyrics are only part of the stage’s performance, saying, “The members’ renewal is next year.”

Afterwards, Jeon So-yeon said, “This performance also did not write down falsehood or hide it from the company. The rehearsal was made together by showing dozens of times,” adding, “I think it will be an opportunity to feel our company’s inadequacy once again for any response.” Among them, Cube admitted in its official position that the time of termination of the contract was right.
