According to entertainment insiders on May 17th, CL and Yang Hyun-suk recently met after a long time and had a long talk. 2NE1’s leader CL and 2NE1’s producer Yang Hyun-suk reportedly had a dinner that lasted much longer than originally planned.

While the specifics of their conversation are unknown, 2NE1 celebrated their 15th debut anniversary on May 17th. It’s believed that their meeting was not without purpose, especially considering CL’s deep affection for 2NE1.

2NE1, ambitiously launched by YG, consisted of CL, Park Bom, Sandara Park, Gong Minzy and debuted on May 17th, 2009. They immediately gained immense popularity with hits like “Fire”, “Don’t Cry”, “Lonely”, “I Am the Best”, “Hate You” and “Ugly”, becoming top-tier in both domestic and international markets. Gong Minzy’s exclusive contract ended in May 2016, and the group officially ended their activities on November 25th, 2016. Their final album was the digital single “Goodbye”, released on January 21st, 2017.

In celebration of 2NE1’s 15th anniversary, CL surprised fans by posting group photos on her SNS account on May 17th. The photos included all members. This is the first time in about 2 years that 2NE1 members have shared group photos since their reunion performance at the 2022 Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival. Other members also shared commemorative photos on their official accounts, showing their strong bond.

In 2022, 2NE1 made headlines by becoming the first Korean girl group to perform on the main stage at Coachella. Their reunion stage, after 7 years, demonstrated their enduring presence and global popularity. YG Entertainment stated that they “cannot confirm” the details regarding this matter.
