On August 6th, the agency ATRP announced, “Chuu has been cast as the lead character Kang Min Joo in the new drama ‘My Girlfriend Is a Real Man’. She is preparing with great responsibility and will do her best. Please look forward to the new transformation and charm that Chuu will bring.”
“My Girlfriend Is a Real Man” is a chaotic romance story between Kim Ji Eun (played by Oh My Girl’s Arin), who suddenly becomes a handsome man overnight, and Park Yoon Jae (played by Yoon San Ha), who can’t give up on his girlfriend despite the change. The drama is based on the popular Naver webtoon of the same name, which has also gained global popularity after being released in Chinese and Thai. The drama is directed by Yoo Kwan Mo, known for “Police University”, “Woman of 9.9 Billion” and “Perfume”, and written by rising scriptwriter Lee Hae Na, who is expected to enhance the original story’s appeal with new emotional and comedic elements.
Yoon San Ha, who plays Park Yoon Jae, is the youngest member of the group ASTRO, which includes Cha Eun Woo. In the drama, Chuu will play the role of Kang Min Joo, a confident and straightforward “hot girl” from Yeonhui University who harbors a one-sided love for Park Yoon Jae. Previously, she received praise for her stable acting in tvN D’s drama “Dating Class”.
