Choo Young-woo attended the handprinting ceremony for the 5th Blue Dragon Series Awards held at CGV Yongsan in Seoul on July 7. The actor, who won the Best New Actor award last year for the Netflix series The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call, returned to leave his handprints as part of the annual tradition.

During the event, host Park Kyung-lim mentioned that Choo Young-woo had posted a lengthy message on social media after receiving the Rookie Actor award last year and asked him how he felt looking back on that moment.

Choo Young-woo responded, “Did I write something like that? Which one are you talking about?” He repeatedly said he could not remember the post, despite it having been written only about a year ago. His reaction appeared to surprise not only the host but also the actors standing beside him.

Park Kyung-lim then asked Choo Young-woo about the qualities that set him apart, referring to his recent nickname “Door Guy” because of his tall stature.

He briefly replied, “Just being tall.” When the host asked again about his unique charm, he added, “My monolid eyes and my dark complexion.”

His short and seemingly unenthusiastic answers drew puzzled reactions from the audience.

For a brief moment, the atmosphere at the venue reportedly became noticeably awkward.
