Choo Sung Hoon Mourns the Passing of His Father: “My Superhero”

Mixed martial arts athlete Choo Sung Hoon left his last letter to his late father who passed away.

On April 18th, Choo Sung Hoon posted several photos taken with his father on his Instagram to mourn his father’s passing.

Choo Sung Hoon wrote, “My father, who was a superhero to me. Kind, strong, powerful, and knew everything. He taught me so much.

He continued, “But he was also a very scary father. When I did something wrong as a child, I was beaten as if I could die.” He reminisced about his childhood, saying, “But I never once hated my father. He was my superhero.

He also expressed regret, saying, “My father suddenly left today. There were still many things I wanted to talk to him about and things I wanted him to teach me. I never even had a chance to drink with him. There were so many things I wanted us to do together.

He then pledged, “Now, things are slowly starting to go well for me, and I wanted to travel around and eat delicious food with him.” 

He promised, “It’s so sudden. From now on, in life, when the time comes to make important decisions, I will remember the words my father taught me. ‘If you have to make a difficult choice in life, choose the difficult path. That’s the path to success.’ I will live my life with that in mind.

Lastly, Choo Sung Hoon wrote, “The next time we meet, I want to play golf, which my father loves, and drink together.

Choo Sung Hoon lost his father on April 18th. Upon hearing the news, he immediately left for Japan, and the funeral will be held quietly with family and relatives.
