Choi Yena Announces Comeback in January 2024 After 7-Month Break

Choi Yena is preparing for a comeback for the new year

According to an exclusive interview reported by Edaily on Dec 21st, Choi Yena is planning to release a new song around mid-January next year and will kick off her comeback activities. She is currently in the final stages of preparations for her upcoming return to the music scene.

Born in 1999, Choi Yena began her singing career as a member of the project girl group IZ*ONE, formed through the 2018 Mnet survival show ‘Produce 48.’ Since 2021, she has also been active in acting alongside her singing career.

As a soloist, she made her debut in January of last year. After her debut, she engaged in activities with songs like “Smiley,” “Smartphone,” “Love War,” and “Hate Rodrigo.” She actively collaborated with artists from other entertainment companies such as Bibi, BE’O, and (G)I-DLE’s Yuqi. She also demonstrated her musical abilities by directly participating in writing and composing. Her debut song, “Smiley,” even made it into Top 10 of Melon daily chart, earning great popularity.

The release of the new song comes approximately seven months after her previous single, “Hate XX,” released in June. After concluding her previous activities, Choi Yena expanded her spectrum of activities by releasing a debut single in Japan. She served as the promotional ambassador for the 25th Bucheon International Animation Festival (BIAF2023) and appeared on various stages, including university festivals, to engage more with the public.
