The Oct 2nd broadcast of MBC’s “Radio Star” (planned by Kang Young-seon / directed by Kim Myung-yeop and Hwang Yoon-sang) will feature Shin Hyun-joon, Kim Hye-eun, Kim Jung-hyun and Choi Tae-joon as guests.
It is Choi Tae-joon’s first appearance on “Radio Star” in 10 years. He first expressed his gratitude, saying that his previous appearance on the show led to increased attention on him in many other variety programs. He then impressed the MCs by analyzing Gwak Beom’s impersonation of Jung Woo-sung and performing his own version of a Jung Woo-sung impersonation.
For his new weekend drama “Iron Family”, where he plays the role of “Cha Tae-woong”, Choi Tae-joon revealed that he lost 8kg for the role, surprising everyone. He jokingly compared the process to “re-enlisting in the military”, leaving viewers curious about his reasoning.
Choi Tae-joon also revealed an unexpected bond with Shin Hyun-joon, saying that he wanted to become the “next Arab-featured actor” after Shin Hyun-joon and that he was shocked to find they shared a similar curly hairstyle. Additionally, Choi Tae-joon shared a behind-the-scenes story from when he played Jung Woo-sung’s son in the drama “Padam Padam”. He recalled a scene where he had to spit on Jung Woo-sung’s face, saying, “His face was glowing, but I had to spit on him, and I was so nervous.” Choi Tae-joon joked that he kept gargling in front of Jung Woo-sung out of guilt, before once again doing a Jung Woo-sung impersonation that had everyone laughing.
Choi Tae-joon then revealed that he often gets more calls for cameo roles rather than lead roles. He talked about his cameo in the drama “Island” and how he felt awkward taking a two-shot with “face genius” Cha Eun-woo, saying, “Even with full makeup and wearing nice clothes, it was still difficult.” His story about being overshadowed by Cha Eun-woo’s visuals sparked curiosity about what the scene looked like.
Finally, Choi Tae-joon shared the story of his marriage to Park Shin-hye, drawing everyone’s attention. He admitted that it was the first time he had talked so much about his wife on a broadcast and cautiously began “building up” his story. Viewers are now excited to hear about their wedding song lineup, Park Shin-hye’s belief in destiny, and more details of their love story.
