On June 18, Choi Joon-hee uploaded a video titled “I Got Tired of Blind Tests, So I Showed Up Myself.” In the video, she revealed that she had been introduced to a shaman through an acquaintance and decided to receive a reading out of curiosity.
Before the session, Choi Joon-hee explained that she wanted insight into her future, including her business ventures, career path, personality traits, and health. “I’m curious about how my life, business, and work will unfold in the future. I also wanted to hear about my personality and health just for fun.”
She added that she had heard the shaman had only recently undergone a spiritual initiation and was told that newly initiated shamans are often believed by some practitioners to possess particularly strong spiritual abilities.
During the meeting, the shaman reportedly became emotional shortly after seeing Choi Joon-hee. According to the video, the shaman suddenly began crying and repeatedly apologized. “I normally don’t cry. I’m sorry.”

The shaman then reportedly said: “How have you lived through all of this? I’m sorry.” The unexpected reaction appeared to leave Choi Joon-hee surprised and visibly emotional.
The most emotional moment came when the shaman claimed to be conveying words from Choi Joon-hee’s late mother. According to the shaman, Choi Jin-sil wanted her daughter to hear a message she had not expressed enough during her lifetime.
The shaman stated: “Your mother wants me to tell you, ‘Joon-hee, I love you.’ She says she didn’t say those words enough.” The shaman further claimed that Choi Jin-sil considered her daughter extremely precious and cherished her deeply. Additional statements attributed to the late actress included descriptions of her happiness when Joon-hee was born and reassurances regarding her daughter’s appearance and self-image.

The shaman also claimed that Choi Jin-sil believed her daughter had spent years trying to resemble her and wanted her to know that she was already beautiful enough. According to the reading, Choi Jin-sil allegedly viewed Joon-hee as a treasured daughter and was proud of the person she had become despite life’s hardships.
The shaman described feeling overwhelmed by the emotions they believed they were receiving during the session. “When a spirit comes through, I feel that person’s emotions.” The individual also claimed that Choi Jin-sil was happy to see how her daughter had grown up but saddened by the difficulties she had endured.
Choi Jin-sil remains one of South Korea’s most beloved actresses. She married former baseball player Cho Sung-min in 2000 and had two children, son Choi Hwan-hee and daughter Choi Joon-hee. The actress passed away in October 2008, but her legacy continues to resonate with the public and her family.
