The special conference for the movie “Tarot” was held on June 12th at CGV Yongsan I’Park Mall in Yongsan, Seoul.
Director Choi Byung-gil, along with actors Cho Yeo-jeong, Ko Kyu-pil and Dex, attended the event.

While explaining his work, Director Choi said, “I thought the stories of a mother, a husband and a young person with a strong will to live a single life in the film represented various aspects of life. As you know, I’ve experienced many trials where my will was broken by fate. As I got older, I began to accept fate and sometimes got broken. I approached ‘Tarot’ with that mindset, treating it like a documentary. I considered it my own film.”
This brought to mind Director Choi’s personal life. Previously, Director Choi announced his divorce from Seo Yu-ri after 5 years of marriage. Seo Yu-ri also shared the news directly through Instagram.
In an interview with Xports, Director Choi said, “It’s true that Seo Yu-ri and I are in the process of divorce mediation. It’s been about a month. Currently, Seo Yu-ri is demanding a lot of assets.”
He confessed, “I’m not in a good financial situation right now, so I sold my house and moved out. I don’t even have a deposit for rent, so I’m staying at my office. Last year, I had to pay off the deposit for an apartment under Seo Yu-ri’s name. In that process, I ended up in debt.”

He also claimed, “The reason for the divorce is due to differences in personality. It was very difficult because our personalities were so different.”
This contrasts with Seo Yu-ri’s claim. She said on Channel A’s “Dr. Oh’s Golden Clinic”, “He (Director Choi) didn’t want children. I really wanted to have children.“
At the conference, Director Choi, who voiced Cho Yeo-jeong’s ex-husband in the film, joked, “I played the role of a trashy ex-husband, and I think I did well. I fulfilled my roles as both an actor and a music director. Please call me ‘trash’ a lot.“
