On March 5, the YouTube channel “Entertainment President Lee Jin-ho” released a video titled “Exclusive Shock: ‘My grandmother took my money’ – The truth behind Choi Jin-sil’s 30 billion won inheritance.” The video included explanations from Jung Ok-sook, the children’s maternal grandmother who raised them after Choi Jin-sil’s passing, along with details about the family’s financial matters.

According to the report, Cho Sung-min left behind real estate assets worth approximately 2 billion won (around $1.4 million). The property and land were reportedly registered under the names of his two children, Choi Hwan-hee and Choi Jun-hee, before later being sold.
However, the process of selling the property involved various taxes and expenses. In addition, a portion of the proceeds was reportedly given to the children’s paternal grandparents, who had to relocate following the property sale. After all settlements and costs were accounted for, the remaining funds were estimated to be around 1 billion won, which was divided equally between the siblings.

Jung Ok-sook also addressed rumors that had circulated regarding the management of the children’s inheritance. She expressed frustration over allegations suggesting that she had misused the money.
According to her explanation, the children’s assets were managed strictly through legal procedures, and the rumors surrounding the inheritance were inaccurate. After actress Choi Jin-sil passed away in 2008, speculation about her children’s inheritance continued for years. In reality, the assets involved a combination of real estate inheritance, educational expenses, and living costs that were managed over time.

It has been reported that Choi Jin-sil left two properties, each inherited 50% by her children. Those properties are currently believed to be operated as rental properties.
Both children were raised by their grandmother after their mother’s passing. Today, Choi Hwan-hee is active as a singer, while Choi Jun-hee recently drew public attention again after announcing her marriage.
