In the released video, Chae Eun-jung, member of the 1st-generation idol group Cleo, mentioned why she suddenly retired. “I didn’t have a stage to show my songs,” she said. “At that time, the industry was flooded with popular solo female singers such as Ivy, Lee Hyo-ri, Seo In-young, and Chae-yeon. Everyone didn’t want me,” she recalled in regret.

I went through my teenage years as my stepmother kept changing. It was like, I went home one day, and my mom was changed,” she confessed.

As for her recent situation, she announced that she has released a new song called “Whi Hu Hu Hu.” “It’s been 13 years since I last released a song. It’s a song that my generation can relate to. Rather than focusing on getting on the charts and going on TV, I want to set an example that people who used to be active in the past can work hard again too.”
