Actor Byun Yo-han is officially making his big-screen comeback following his marriage to Tiffany Young, drawing attention with a striking shaved-head transformation for the upcoming film. On April 1, it was confirmed that Byun Yo-han will lead the cast of Pamun (tentative title), a crime drama centered on a powerful family entangled in an illegal business passed down through generations.
The story unfolds after the death of the eldest heir, triggering an uncontrollable conflict over succession within the Yedong Kwon clan. Byun Yo-han takes on the role of Park Ki-tae, a loyal aide who has long handled the family’s dirty work. After the death of his childhood friend Kwon Do-young’s father, Ki-tae steps forward to ensure his friend inherits the position. Known for his strong acting range, Byun is expected to bring depth and intensity to the character.
Actress Esom joins the film as Kwon So-hyun, the eldest daughter who distanced herself from the dangerous family business and moved to Seoul. Upon her return, she becomes entangled in the escalating succession battle, bringing a complex emotional layer to the story.
Meanwhile, Kim Jun-han plays Kwon Do-young, the natural successor who struggles to gain recognition from the elders despite inheriting the business. Torn between self-doubt and ambition, the character adds psychological tension to the narrative. Veteran actor Kim Jong-soo will portray Kwon Byung-ryeol, the ambitious uncle who covets the leadership position, intensifying the internal family conflict with his commanding presence.
The film is produced by Star Platinum, known for the Netflix film Good News, and marks the commercial debut of director Kim Sun-kyung, who also penned the script. Acclaimed director Byun Sung-hyun joins as co-writer, further elevating the project’s genre-driven tension.
Pamun explores themes of patriarchal order, inherited power, and internal family conflict, promising a gripping narrative filled with suspense and emotional depth. Following a successful script reading, the production has officially begun filming and is slated for release in 2027.
