Byun Woo-seok Thanks “Lovely Runner” Costar Kim Hye-yoon, “I Could Feel Our Comeradeship”
Actor Byun Woo-seok mentioned his special friendship with actress Kim Hye-yoon, his costar in the drama “Lovely Runner”
Appearing on tvN’s entertainment program “You Quiz on the Block” on May 22nd, Byun Woo-seok, who recently caused “Ryu Seon-jae Syndrome” with his acting performance in “Lovely Runner”, revealed various stories about himself and his drama.
Byun Woo-seok, who got the secondary character Ryu Seon-jae after acting in “Lovely Runner”, talked about changes in his popularity and status, saying “Even my CEO is now calling me Seon-jae, like ‘Seon-jae ah, where are you?’, ‘Seon-jae ah, have you eaten?’, ‘Seon-jae ah, I love you’, etc.”
Introducing “Lovely Runner” as the drama in which he played his first main character role, Byun Woo-seok said, “I did my best hoping that the drama would do well. It’s actually more successful than I imagined. Thank you so much”.
Regarding actress Kim Hye-yoon, who appeared in the drama as Im Sol, Byun Woo-seok said, “Her acting is so good. Without Hye-yoon, I wouldn’t have been able to express Seon-jae’s feelings this much. The emotions I showed on the filming set came to me naturally. I fell in love with Seon-jae myself and tried to do better”, adding “I could see her energy while filming but the more she acted, her energy also decreased. There were so many things to film and she didn’t know how to control her condition. Whenever I saw Hye-yoon ran out of energy, I would give her snacks or jelly to recharge some sugar”.
He continued, “The background of the drama is summer, but when we filmed in winter, it was very cold to touch water and we breathed out smoke when going outside. We had to drink cold water to get rid of the smoke. Whenever Hye-yoon and I looked at each other, we gained energy to work harder”, adding “I remember what Hye-yoon told me at that time. She said she had never been in the military but she could understand what comradeship was like”.
Lastly, Byun Woo-seok expressed his gratitude for Kim Hye-yoon in a bonus video. The actor looked at the camera and said, “Hye-yoon ah, I learned a lot from the energy you gave me during the filming and your acting attitude on the set. Thanks to you, I was able to complete the role Seon-jae well. Call me anytime if you want to eat something delicious. I’ll buy it for you. Thank you so much”.
