On June 11, Korea’s official lottery company Donghaeng Lottery published an interview with the winner of the 61st Speed Lotto 2000 draw. The anonymous winner from Wonju, Gangwon Province took home a staggering 2 billion KRW (~1.4 million USD).
The twist? The winner claimed that the winning ticket was purchased after his wife dreamed of actor Byeon Woo-seok.

“My wife dreamt of actor Byeon Woo-seok appearing at a large event,” the winner shared. “He was glowing with a heavenly aura, called out her name during a prize giveaway, and even gave her a hug.” Inspired by the dream, the wife bought a scratch-off ticket—and hit the jackpot.

The winner added, “It was the most vivid dream she ever had. We were thrilled when we actually won and felt grateful to Byeon Woo-seok.” A handwritten note included in the interview read, “Thank you, Byeon Woo-seok, for bringing luck to our family.”

As the story spread rapidly on social media and online communities, Byeon Woo-seok himself responded. Commenting on a post from a travel magazine that shared the news, he playfully wrote, “Wait for me, I’m coming.”

- Can’t something be done about me first?
- Seriously, that comment is heart-fluttering lol such witty charm.
- Being a heart-fluttering human should be illegal.
- Please appear in my dreams too!!
- Please, let it be me tonight.
- So cute.. please come to me tonightㅠ
Byeon Woo-seok, who rose to stardom with Lovely Runner, seems to now hold not just romantic appeal but supernatural lottery powers—at least in the eyes of lucky fans.
