Byun Woo-seok recently appeared in “Running Man” and revealed how he became best friends with Joo Woo-jae, who is also a former model. In this episode of “Running Man,” Byeon Woo-seok recalled when he was a model, someone told him to go to the bathroom to call someone out and that person was Joo Woo-jae.
On the other hand, Ahn Jae-hyun, also a former model, recently mentioned rumors surrounding him as a model on his personal YouTube channel. “When I was a model, there was a rumor that I was gay,” he began. Gay comedian Hong Seok-cheon, who appeared as a guest in the video, said, “Oh my gosh,” adding, “It must be because you was so pretty.” Ahn Jae-hyun then explained, “I liked it because it felt like I was recognized,” and added, “If there was no rumor that I was gay, I had not been recognized as a model.”
Problems not only happened to male models but also to female models. On May 29th, Lee So-ra revealed in a video on her personal YouTube channel, “It (modeling) is not easy because it’s a job where people are compared for their appearance and get fired on the spot. One time when I was standing like this, a person told me to, ‘Change, change.'”
Lee continued, “I’ve been hurt, I’ve been under a lot of pressure. I’ve been through crazy years,” she recalled, adding, “There’s something that you see as you get older. You accept it.”
Top model Han Hye-jin also talked about the emotional pain she experienced when she started modeling. She shed tears recalling an emotionally unstable period in the fashion world, which was colorful and stimulating. “Emotionally and mentally, it was so hard. Wherever I went to work, there were rumors that I was rude and unfriendly,” she said, criticizing the commercial standards that were too harsh for a 16-year-old to go through.
