Busan locals were shocked to see ARMYs filling the city with purple before BTS concert

“Who are the purple people? What is happening in Busan now!”

Kim Dong-hee (70s), a “Busan native” who lived only in Busan for a lifetime, made the remarks as she saw a crowd in purple filling Busan Station. Kim said, “I’ve seen a red devil crowd in red clothes during the 2022 World Cup, but this is the first time in my life I see such a purple crowd,” adding, “I can’t believe so many people wear purple clothes and travel around Busan just because a group of singers will perform here. “If someone hadn’t explained it, I would have thought there was even a large-scale protest,” she said with a big smile.

Kim Sook-hee (50s), who went hiking in purple clothes after a long time, said, “I went hiking in purple with my club members, and I was puzzled because there were so many people in purple like me,” adding, “I’m realizing that BTS is really amazing.”

Kim Ye-won, who volunteered to interpret for foreign tourists visiting Busan, said, “I think thousands or tens of thousands of foreigners visited Busan to see the BTS concert. I am proud as a Busan citizen because more people seem to visit Busan this time than during the Busan International Film Festival.”
