BTS’s V Becomes Most Unfollowed K-pop Artist after Controversial SNS Update
After a recent controversial SNS update, BTS’s V became the most unfollowed K-pop artist in the last 24 hours.
Previously on July 21, BTS’s V published several photos on his personal Instagram, including an image of french fries from McDonald’s.
As McDonald’s is currently facing a boycott campaign for previously showing support for Israel, which is currently committing war crimes in the Gaza strip, many fans have expressed disappointment over V’s SNS update, even calling the male idol “tone deaf” in the face of ongoing world events.
Additionally, the post caused V to lose over 32,000 followers on Instagram, making him the most unfollowed K-pop artist in the last 24 hours.
On the other hand, some fans still defend V, stating that the McDonald’s that support Israel is only a franchise of the brand in Israel, which has a separate management from the parent brand itself.
They have also started trending the keyword “LEAVE TAEHYUNG ALONE” and the hashtag “WeLoveYouTaehyung” in order to overshadow criticisms directed at BTS’s V.
