BTS’s Suga’s Alcohol Level Higher than Previously Reported? One Lie After Another

The drunk-driving incident of Suga from BTS has shocked fans with a series of lies that have recently come to light.

On August 9th, Korean media outlet Dong-A Ilbo reported that Suga’s blood alcohol concentration was 0.227%, further intensifying the situation. Under current law, if caught driving an electric scooter with a blood alcohol concentration of 0.08% to less than 0.2%, the driver could face one to two years in prison or a fine ranging from 5 million to 10 million KRW.

If the level exceeds 0.2%, like in Suga’s case, the penalty increases to two to five years in prison or a fine ranging from 10 million to 20 million KRW.

When caught by the police, Suga claimed that he “had only one beer and drove for a short time,” but the blood alcohol level revealed by the police was found to be at a “drunk” level that warrants license revocation.

Initially, Suga claimed that he was riding an electric kickboard, but it has now been revealed that he was actually operating an electric scooter. Furthermore, while he mentioned only having “one beer,” it has been uncovered that his blood alcohol concentration was at a level considered ‘intoxicated,’ amplifying the controversy.

On top of that, HYBE initially claimed that Suga only traveled around 500 meters, but the male idol was revealed to have traveled over 2 km on a busy street, adding to the number of lies.

Additionally, it was revealed that the electric scooter Suga was riding was classified as a motorized bicycle, not as a low-speed personal mobility device (PM) as initially claimed. The PM Suga mentioned is typically defined as a device with a maximum speed of less than 25 km/h and a weight of less than 30 kg. However, the scooter Suga was actually driving was classified as a motorized bicycle, which is subject to the same legal standards for DUI (drinking under influence) as cars. The police hinted that Suga could face criminal charges for his actions.
