BTS’s side to submit a complaint against delusional malicious articles: “There will be no agreement or leniency”

BTS has filed a complaint against the authors of the malicious posts regarding its members.

BTS‘s agency Big Hit Music said on Jun 29th through its official fan community, “We are taking regular legal action against writers of malicious post such as defamation, insults, sexual harassment, spreading false information, and malicious slander against BTS.”

“We recently filed a number of complaints with investigative agencies based on evidence of insults and defamation posts collected through self-monitoring and fans’ reports,” the agency said. “On DCInside, some particular people have written malicious posts using dozens of different IPs. We have monitored the types of posts from these accounts and sued them, including all their repeated malicious posts…”

The agency continued, “Even after the last announcement, we already carried out legal actions by checking defamation posts with very crude and paranoid content. In addition, we would like to inform you that platforms not specific in the notice have also been included in the complaint and that we cannot explain the content of the complaint in detail for the smooth flow of the investigation”.

In addition, they emphasized, “Legal actions, such as collecting and reporting, in response to malicious posts toward BTS are being done continuously”, adding, “The defendant, who is under investigation, recently attempted to reach an agreement and request a consultation to avoid severe punishment, but we will not show leniency. In order to eradicate malicious behaviors, we will continue to take strict measures against the suspects with no agreement or leniency.”

Meanwhile, BTS released the anthology album “Proof”, which implies the nine-year history of the group’s debut, on June 10th.

Below is the full statement from Big Hit Music

“Hello.

This is Big Hit Music.

We regularly take legal action against writers of malicious post such as defamation, insults, sexual harassment, spreading false information, and malicious slander against BTS. We would like to inform everyone about the progress in this regard.

We recently filed a number of complaints with investigative agencies based on evidence of insults and defamation posts collected through self-monitoring and fans’ reports.

On DCInside, some particular people have written malicious posts using dozens of different IPs. We have monitored the types of posts from these accounts and sued them, including all their repeated malicious posts.

In addition, even after the last announcement, we already checked defamation posts with very crude and paranoid content and then carried out legal actions. Apart from this, we would like to inform you that platforms not specific in the notice have also been included in the complaint and that we cannot explain the content of the complaint in detail for the smooth flow of the investigation.

Legal actions, such as collecting and reporting, in response to malicious posts toward BTS are being done continuously. The defendant, who is under investigation, recently attempted to reach an agreement and request a consultation to avoid severe punishment, but we will not show leniency. In order to eradicate malicious behaviors, we will continue to take strict measures against the suspects with no agreement or leniency.

Fans’ reports always play a big role in legal action against malicious content. We hope that you will show more interest and actively report malicious posts through Big Hit’s account for legal responses.

Big Hit Music will continue to work hard to protect the rights and interests of our artists.”
