RM, Jimin, V, and Jungkook of BTS have filed for cancellation of military enlistment postponement
According BTS’s agency, Big Hit Music, on November 22, RM, Jimin, V, and Jungkook has begun the process to fulfill their military service obligations, adding, “Follow-up news regarding enlistment will be provided as soon as it is decided.”
The military service obligation fulfillment procedure announced by the agency refers to BTS’s cancellation of enlistment postponement until the year of turning 30 upon the recommendation of the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism in accordance with the Military Service Act revised in 2020.
The agency explained that if the four members’ enlistment postponement is canceled, they will enlist on active duty as soon as their enlistment notices are issued, like Jin and j-hope, who are currently serving in the military.
The timing of enlistment is expected to be within this year at the earliest, or early next year at the latest.
It is known that the agency and members hope to resume team activities in 2025 after completing military service.
