BTS’s Jin Carries Paris Olympics Torch Amid Loud Cheers, “I’m Very Honored”

BTS's oldest member Jin (real name Kim Seok-jin) has shown up as one of the torchbearers for the Paris Olympics

At around 8 p.m. on July 14th (local time), BTS’s Jin appeared in front of fans at the torch relay center inside the Louvre Museum in France.

Fans had gathered in front of the Louvre Museum early in the morning to see Jin doing the torch relay. They even brought the Korean flag with Jin’s name ‘Kim Seok-jin’ to cheer for the male idol when he appeared.

Jin smiled shyly and waved his hands enthusiastically to fans who came to welcome him. Accompanied by the police, Jin took over the torch and headed back to the Louvre Museum. He carried the torch and ran for about 200 meters.

Some fans also ran together with Jin on his route. Fortunately, no incident occurred thanks to the tight security of the police along the way.

After the torch relay, Jin delivered a message video through his agency HYBE.

In the video, he said, “I’m very honored to participate in the torch relay today”, adding “I sincerely thank ARMYs and all the fans for giving me the chance to carry the torch”.
