This new album comes about 1 year and 4 months after “FACE”. It captures the process of confronting his true self. “MUSE” portrays a journey to find the inspirations surrounding “me”.
The album revolves around the theme of “love”. It includes 7 tracks: the title song “Who”, “Rebirth”, “Interlude: Showtime”, “Smeraldo Garden Marching Band”, “Slow Dance”, “Be Mine” and “Closer Than This”.
Jimin personally wrote and composed six of the tracks, embedding his sincere stories into the lyrics. He conveys the narrative of seeking and sometimes wandering in the search for love.
Producer Pdogg, who collaborated with Jimin on “FACE”, also worked on this album. Pdogg shared insights into the production process through BigHit Music on July 19th.
Recalling the album’s creation, Pdogg said, “We focused on faithfully reflecting the emotions Jimin felt during the work into the music.“
He added, “We worked in Los Angeles, and perhaps due to the city’s vibe, we produced happy and positive energy songs.”
He explained that the album was conceptual, aiming to capture the excitement felt when thinking of a “muse” in the tracks.
He said, “The flow of emotions is reflected in the track order, so it will be more interesting if you listen while focusing on that.“
Pdogg also shared the making process of the title track “Who”, “We created it with Jon Bellion in New York. I remember Jimin was quite shy when explaining to Jon what he wanted to express.”
He also mentioned meeting Jimmy Fallon, “We met Jimmy Fallon purely by chance in the studio next door. After finishing our work, we played the song for him first.“
Pdogg praised Jimin, “Jimin is an artist who always maintains a diligent attitude. After finishing ‘FACE’, he immediately started working on ‘MUSE’. I even thought, ‘Is he working this hard because he’s about to enlist in the military?’“
He concluded “Thanks to Jimin’s efforts, you’ll be able to witness his further growth in his musical journey” and asked for high expectations for the new album.
