BTS V’s Chinese fan club to operate largest subway ad project in KPOP history for his birthday

BTS’s V, whose birthday is December 30, will receive the largest subway birthday advertisement project in K-pop history as a gift.

V‘s largest fan club, his Baidu Bar in China, said it will operate birthday advertisements in a total of 16,035 subways nationwide, including all subway lines in Seoul, Incheon, Busan, Daegu, Gwangju and Daejeon. This birthday advertisement project has an unprecedented scale that shows V’s status in China and why he is called the “Prince of Mainland China.”

The advertisements will run for two weeks from December 19 to January 2. This period is literally the “golden peak season,” including the year-end and New Year holidays. As such, the cost is also expected to be the largest ever.

According to Baidu V Bar, V‘s Chinese fan club had raised 1.2 billion won last year, which is the highest amount in K-pop history. This year, it easily surpassed 1.1 billion won in 24 hours, setting the highest K-pop fundraising record for the second consecutive year. V’s birthday advertisements can be found in Seoul on digital posters, emergency guidance DID, subway platform screens, waiting room screens, in-train route guides, and information on Bundang Line, Suin Line, Gyeonggang Line, and Incheon Line 1. The project also includes in-station route guide on Busan Lines 1 and 2, in-station and in-vehicle screens on Gwangju Line 1, and in-station screens on Daegu Line 1 and 2.

Meanwhile, earlier this year, the Japanese TV Tokyo news program “WBS” (World Business Satellite) reported the “economic effect created by K-pop,” paying attention to the subway station and wrapping bus covered with V’s birthday advertisement.

Last year, Baidu V Bar also ran the largest-ever advertisement with a total of 7,039 screens across all lines of Seoul Subway Line 1 to Line 9, and presented the “Car Parade Support” in downtown Seoul and Daegu by wrapping V’s photos on 13 large buses.
