On March 13, V joined TikTok under the username @tete\ kimv. According to international media reports, the account gained massive attention almost immediately. Within just a few hours of being created, it surpassed 434,000 followers and later exceeded 1 million followers the same evening. Among the first people to follow the account were fellow BTS members J-Hope and Jungkook, drawing even more interest from fans.
The way fans discovered V’s account also caught attention online. A day before the account was opened, Jungkook had unfollowed most accounts on TikTok, leaving only J-Hope and the official BTS account in his following list. The next day, fans noticed a new account appearing in Jungkook’s following list and quickly realized it belonged to V.
One fan with the username @i\ am\ AnkitaD joked, “I discovered V’s TikTok through Jungkook, and through Taehyung I found Jungkook’s Instagram—how does this even happen?” Another fan, @heyFeera, commented, “Thanks to Hobi and JK for ‘leaking’ Taehyung’s account.”
There is also a reason fans are especially excited about V’s TikTok debut. In a previous interview with GQ, V and Jungkook hinted that they would be willing to try a TikTok dance challenge after a fan suggested it. As a result, many fans believe the long-awaited challenge could finally happen soon.
Fans expressed their excitement across social media. One wrote, “Finally! I feel like dance challenges are about to flood in,” while another said, “TikTok challenges are coming I’m completely ready.” Another comment read, “Be careful, TikToker Taehyung is coming!”
With V joining the platform, three BTS members now have personal TikTok accounts: J-Hope, Jungkook, and V. With the group preparing to release their fifth full-length album ARIRANG on March 20, fans are curious whether V’s TikTok activity will further build excitement for the upcoming comeback.
