BTS Surpassed BIGBANG to be “Most Loved Boy Group of the 21st Century”

A survey has revealed BTS to dominate the ranking for “most loved boy group of the 21st century” in South Korea, surpassing BIGBANG.

According to a survey conducted by Star News in collaboration with research agency Gallup Korea from August 19 to 23, targeting 1,052 men and women aged 19 to 69 nationwide, BTS (RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V, Jungkook) ranked first with a 74% vote in the question “Who is the most loved K-pop boy group (debuting in the 21st century)?” (with 2 multiple-choice responses).

BTS has firmly established its place as the nation’s beloved boy group. They are a global K-pop sensation, dominating music charts both domestically and internationally. Their albums regularly sweep the charts, and in 2021, they became the first Asian artist to win the Artist of the Year award at the American Music Awards, further proving their global popularity.

Each of BTS’s 7 members has a distinct personality. Whether together as a group or through their impressive solo activities, BTS continues to showcase their immense influence. Even with most of the members currently fulfilling their military service, the group’s content continues to generate buzz, fueling anticipation for their return as a complete group.

The survey results reflect BTS’s overwhelming popularity, with the group receiving more than double the support of the second-place group. Their popularity was equally strong among both men and women (74% each), and across all age groups: 19-29 years (67%), 30s (66%), 40s (76%), 50s (83%), and 60s (74%).

BIGBANG ranked second with 33% of the vote, despite not having released new music since their 2022 track “Still Life (Spring Summer Fall Winter).” This suggests that their positive image and long-standing legacy remain strong.
