BTS Jungkook’s solo album? Met with Bang Si Hyuk and American producer

HYBE’s Chairman Bang Si Hyuk met with BTS member Jungkook and a famous American producer.

On April 10th, Bang Si Hyuk posted a photo on his Instagram account along with the caption, “With #JK and @thisiswatt Thank you, @scooterbraun. You made this! #bighitmusic #sbproject #hybeamerica #HYBE”

In the released photo, Jungkook is seen linking arms with Bang Si Hyuk and American producer Andrew Watt. It is known that Jungkook left for Los Angeles, USA through Incheon International Airport last August.

Andrew Watt is a renowned producer and singer-songwriter who has worked with world-class musicians like Maroon 5, Post Malone, Sam Smith, Miley Cyrus, and Ozzy Osbourne. In February, he won two Grammy Awards, including Best Rock Album and Best Metal Performance, at the 65th Grammy Awards. His encounter with Jungkook and Bang Si Hyuk raised music fans’ expectations for Jungkook’s first solo album release.

Before Jungkook, other BTS members have made their official solo debuts. Starting with j-hope, who released his first full-length album “Jack In The Box” last July, Jin released the single “The Astronaut” in October. Meanwhile, RM released his first full-length album “Indigo” in December, and Jimin released his first mini-album “FACE” in March.

Meanwhile, Suga is set to release his first full-length album “D-DAY” on April 21st, while V and Jungkook are likely in preparation for their solo debut.

On the other hand, in June 2022, Jungkook released a self-written solo song “My You” for free through BTS’ official SNS and Soundcloud in celebration of the group’s 9th anniversary. He then collaborated with American singer Charlie Puth on the single “Left and Right”, which reached No. 22 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, and stayed on the chart for 15 consecutive weeks, proving itself as a global hit song.

In addition, Jungkook released the collaborative single “Bad Decisions” with BTS members Jin, Jimin, V, Benny Blanco, and Snoop Dogg in August last year, which entered the Billboard Hot 100 chart at No. 10.

The BTS member also proved his strong presence at the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar. In November last year, he sang the official soundtrack (Soundtrack, theme song) “Dreamers” for the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar, which tops the iTunes “Top Songs” charts in 102 countries/regions. It also reached the top of the Melon Top 100 chart (as of December 4th).

Jungkook also performed at the opening ceremony of the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar at the Al Bayt Stadium. He was the first K-pop singer to perform a solo World Cup theme song and the first Korean singer to perform at an opening ceremony of a World Cup held in a foreign country.
