BTS Jungkook takes 1st place for two consecutive weeks on Mcountdown.
On July 27th, BTS’s Jungkook achieved 1st place for the 2nd week in a row on MCountdown.
During the broadcast of MCountdown for the 4th week of July, Jungkook’s “Seven” secured the top spot with a total of 7,606 points, surpassing New Jeans’ “Super Shy” with 6,244 points. Remarkably, he achieved 1st place once again without making a live appearance on the show, just like the previous week.
Towards the end of the broadcast, an interesting incident occurred. The head of Jungkook’s trophy that MC Miyeon was holding fell off. Observing this, Monsta X’s Shownu promptly picked up the detached part.
After the announcement of his win, Jungkook expressed his gratitude through the fan community Weverse. He said, “Thank you, ARMY, for the 1st place on MCountdown! Thanks to you, I’ve achieved 1st place twice on MCountdown! I saw the trophy’s head flying away. Haha. Thank you!” He brought smiles with his response.
Following the incident, Mcountdown promised to make amends for the broken trophy. They assured fans that a new and intact trophy would be specially delivered to Jungkook.
According to Billboard on July 24th, Jungkook’s “Seven” made a remarkable feat in the US music industry, directly entering and topping the prestigious main single chart, “Hot 100.” This marked a significant milestone for K-pop and the global music market.
Furthermore, it also reached the top of the “Global 200” chart, surpassing Miley Cyrus, making Jungkook the solo artist with the most weekly streaming 1st places in Billboard’s history.
