BTS Jimin’s 1st Solo Album “FACE” Sells Over 1 Million Copies on First Day, Dominates Global Charts

BTS member Jimin is making waves as a solo artist, storming the world charts with his latest album, “FACE”

On the first day of release, Jimin’s 1st solo album achieved a million-seller record and topped iTunes charts in 110 countries worldwide, as well as reaching the top of Japan’s Oricon Daily Chart, cementing his unique presence in the industry.

According to Big Hit Music and Hanteo Chart on the 26th, “FACE” sold 1,021,532 copies on its release day, making him the only K-pop solo artist to sell over a million copies on the first day.

It is Jimin’s first official solo album in ten years since his debut and features six tracks, including the title track “Like Crazy” and pre-release song “Set Me Free Pt.2.”

The success of Jimin’s album doesn’t end there. It also topped the iTunes “Top Album Chart” in 63 countries worldwide, including Spain, Mexico, and Greece. The title track also ranked first on the iTunes “Top Song Chart” in 111 countries worldwide, such as the US, UK, and Canada, while the music video has already surpassed 16.59 million views as of the day of release.

On Japan’s Oricon Daily Album Ranking (as of the 24th), “FACE” recorded sales of 2,221,200 copies and secured the top spot. Meanwhile, on the Daily Digital Single Ranking, all tracks from the album, including the title track, occupied the top spots.

Sharing his thoughts on the album, Jimin revealed, “I poured my honest emotions such as fear, worries, and emptiness that I felt during the pandemic period into the album” and “Everything was a new challenge. I prepared with the heart of wanting to show the many people who have expectations for BTS Jimin a new and unexpected side of myself.”
