Jimin, a member of BTS, was selected as the No.1 male idol who shone in the first half of 2023, according to Forbes Korea.
From May 26th to June 12th, Forbes Korea held a poll for “Male Idol Who Shined in the First Half of 2023” through the Idol Champ app, in which BTS Jimin got 1st place.
As such, Jimin has been crowned as Forbes Korea’s “No.1 male idol who shined in the first half of 2023”
On the other hand, through his personal activities, Jimin has achieved remarkable success as a solo artist representing Kpop.
His album “FACE”, which was released on March 24th, surpassed 1 million sales on the first day, making him the top solo artist in terms of first-day sales. As of June 18th, the album has achieved a cumulative sales of 1,625,123 copies, maintaining Jimin’s position as the number one solo artist.
Meanwhile, Jimin’s title track, “Like Crazy”, became the first song by a Korean solo artist to reach the top of the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 chart, and to this day, BTS and Jimin are the only Korean artists to have managed such an achievement.
Furthermore, Jimin is firmly establishing his position as a pop icon representing the 21st century by charting four songs on the US Billboard Hot 100 and the UK Official Singles Chart within 4 months, and is the only Korean artist to have done so.
On Spotify, Jimin became the first Korean solo artist to top the global daily chart with “Like Crazy”. He also achieved a Guinness World Record by surpassing 1 billion streams on Spotify’s personal credit in just 393 days, setting the shortest period record for a Kpop solo artist.
Not only that, Jimin participated in the main theme song “Angel Pt.1” for the Hollywood action blockbuster film “Fast X” (belonging to the “Fast and Furious” franchise), becoming the first Korean artist to do so. At the same time, his self-composed song “Promise” remained at the top of the world rankings by surpassing 330 million streams on Soundcloud.
Previously, Jimin also ranked first in the “Idols with Anticipated Solo Activities” poll conducted by Forbes Korea. He is currently raising expectations for future activities by decorating the first half of 2023 with stunning achievements.
