On August 11, SEVENTEEN’s Seungkwan posted an advertisement for the alcohol brand CASS on Instagram, along with a warning that “Excessive drinking can lead to stroke, brain damage, and memory loss. Drinking alcohol during pregnancy can result in birth defects.”
This warning is legally required when advertising alcoholic beverages. In fact, a similar warning was also included in previous content of SEVENTEEN that include alcohol advertisement.
However, on the SNS platform X (formerly Twitter), some fans of BTS accused Seungkwan of mocking Suga’s DUI incident with his warning. Amid this, a verified fan of BTS with over 3,800 followers even called for fellow fans to spam malicious comments on Seungkwan’s Instagram, going as far as to tell the male idol to “follow” his late best friend, former ASTRO Moonbin.

Following this, Seungkwan’s advertisement post started to be filled with comments wishing for his death, and these comments even appeared on his pinned post dedicated to Moonbin.
It is known that Seungkwan’s post was likely made to celebrate the end of the 2024 Olympic Paris, and so it is a complete coincidence that it was made after Suga’s drunk-driving scandal.
