On May 14, SISTAR‘s Bora appeared as a guest on the YouTube talk show “Cho Hyun Ah’s Ordinary Thursday Night,” hosted by Cho Hyun Ah.
During the conversation, Bora reminisced about SISTAR’s peak years and revealed how the group was trained to project confidence and charisma.
“We were always told to walk like we were kicking our hips,” she joked, even demonstrating the signature confident walk that became associated with SISTAR’s image.
She also proudly recalled SISTAR’s legendary performances at the idol sports competition show Idol Star Athletics Championships, often nicknamed “ISAC.” “I won awards in sprinting, archery, hurdles, and even high jump,” she shared.
When Cho Hyun Ah commented, “Why did SISTAR seem so intimidating back then?” Bora admitted with a laugh, “I think we did have strong energy.” However, she quickly clarified one common misconception. “But I’ve never once scolded junior idols,” she emphasized.
Beyond discussing SISTAR, Bora also revealed her strong desire to return to variety entertainment.
Many people currently recognize her mainly as an actress, but she explained: “A lot of people think I only focus on acting now, but I really want to do variety shows too.” She specifically mentioned programs such as Amazing Saturday, Home Alone, and Steel Troops Girls as shows she would love to join in the future.
Bora also opened up about experiencing a difficult period without agency representation for nearly three years. “I felt guilty about resting,” she confessed. “But eventually I started thinking, ‘It’s okay to take a break.’”
The singer-actress further reflected on discovering a different side of herself emotionally. “I thought I was a bright person, but I realized I was darker than anyone else,” she admitted honestly. “I had been wrapping myself in a cheerful image.”
She concluded by saying that she now wants to show her authentic self rather than a carefully constructed persona, revealing a more mature and grounded outlook that resonated deeply with viewers.
