Actress Im YoonA and breakout star Lee Chae-min are set to heat up screens in tvN’s highly anticipated weekend drama, Bon Appétit, Your Majesty, premiering August 23 at 9:10 PM KST.
In a tantalizing blend of historical fantasy and culinary romance, Bon Appétit, Your Majesty tells the story of Yeon Ji-young (played by Girls’ Generation’s YoonA), a top French chef on the cusp of stardom who suddenly time-slips into a strange era. There, she encounters King Lee Heon (Lee Chae-min), a fearsome monarch with an exceptionally picky palate and a sharp tongue.

Forced to survive in an unfamiliar royal court, Ji-young uses her modern cooking expertise to win over the taste buds — and perhaps the heart — of the tyrant king. But it’s no easy feat, as Lee Heon is both emotionally closed off and hypersensitive to flavors, adding tension and intrigue to their growing connection.
Newly released stills hint at a dynamic relationship between the leads. One frame captures the king pointing a bow and arrow at Ji-young, dressed in modern attire — a visual clash of timelines. Another shows her anxiously presenting food in the palace kitchen as Heon looks on with suspicion and curiosity. A close-up moment where their eyes meet in a tight space adds a romantic edge to the unfolding drama.

YoonA, already known for her versatility on screen, promises a compelling performance as the resourceful chef navigating palace politics and historical confusion. Meanwhile, Lee Chae-min, making his regal debut, brings intensity and nuance to the role of the guarded king.
Fans are already abuzz with anticipation. Comments flooding early teasers include, “This looks amazing,” “YoonA and Chae-min’s chemistry is going to be crazy,” and “The plot is so unique and exciting!” The drama’s unique combination of food, fantasy, and royal romance is shaping up to be a standout hit this season.

With its blend of sweet and spicy storytelling, Bon Appétit, Your Majesty looks set to serve a feast for the senses — and the heart.
