According to YG Entertainment on April 14th, the MV for BLACKPINK’s pre-release single “Pink Venom” from their second full album “BORN PINK” has surpassed 600 million views on YouTube at 1:21 p.m. KST that day.

“Pink Venom” MV competed for the record of the highest number of views by a female artist in 24 hours, with 90.4 million views on YouTube, and it also achieved 100 million views at the fastest speed (29 hours and 35 minutes) among K-pop girl groups.

“Pink Venom” is a hip-hop song that showcases BLACKPINK’s characteristic charisma. The traditional Korean instrument sound intertwined with intense beats captures the listener’s attention from the intro, and the agile rap and deadly vocals layered on top maximize the charms of each of the four members.

This song topped the iTunes chart in 81 countries immediately after its release, and it also topped the Billboard Global 200 for two consecutive weeks and the Billboard Global for three consecutive weeks. It also proved its tremendous global influence by ranking No. 22 on both the Billboard Hot 100 and the UK Official Charts.

Meanwhile, BLACKPINK is currently going on the largest world tour by a K-pop girl group, drawing in around 1.5 million fans. After successfully completing 14 shows in seven cities in North America and ten shows in seven cities in Europe last year, BLACKPINK is meeting more fans in Asia.

On April 15th and 22nd (local time), BLACKPINK will make history as the first K-pop artist to headline the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival in the United States.
