BLACKPINK’s overseas popularity is amazing, 1st place on global YouTube song and music video charts for 2 weeks in a row

Blackpink’s ‘Pink Venom’ topped the global YouTube chart for 2 weeks in a row.

According to the latest chart (2022.08.26 ~ 2022.09.01) released by YouTube on September 4, the pre-released song ‘Pink Venom’ from Blackpink‘s 2nd regular album climbed to the top of the top 100 global YouTube songs following last week.

The music video for ‘Pink Venom’ surpassed 90.4 million views within 24 hours of its release, breaking the world record for a female artist. After reaching 100 million views at the fastest speed (29 hours 35 minutes) among K-pop girl groups, it surpassed 200 million views in 7 days.

The response to the song was also unbelievable. It entered for the first time at #22 on the UK Official Chart, one of the world’s two largest pop charts along with the US Billboard, and also ranked #37 for the second week. On Spotify, the world’s largest music streaming platform, it also ranked #2 on the Top Songs Global Weekly Chart, the highest ranking in K-Pop history in the first week, and #4 in the second week.

It is also expected that BLACKPINK will maintain the top spot on the Billboard. Previously, it not only topped both the US Billboard Global 200 and Billboard Global Excl. U.S. charts, but also ranked 22nd on the Hot 100 chart.

BLACKPINK will release their 2nd full-length album ‘BORN PINK’ on September 16th. In addition, BLACKPINK will kick off a super-large world tour in the order of North America, Europe, Asia, and Oceania through the Seoul concert to be held on October 15 and 16.
