BLACKPINK’s Lisa Wins “Best K-pop” at 2024 VMAs, Stuns with Outstanding Stage & Visuals

Appearing as a solo artist at the 2024 VMAs, BLACKPINK’s Lisa has made an unforgettable impression and secured a win.

On the morning of September 11 (local time), Lisa officially appeared at the 2024 MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs 2024). This event marked the first time Lisa “went solo” at an international award show as a solo artist.

At the VMAs 2024 red carpet, BLACKPINK’s youngest member stole the spotlight with her powerful, sultry goddess look. In a luxurious outfit paired with Bvlgari diamond jewelry, Lisa became one of the hottest names on the red carpet, going viral across various platforms.

As previously announced, Lisa performed 2 new songs, “ROCKSTAR” and “New Woman,” at the VMAs. The Thai idol quickly changed into a striking red outfit and wowed the audience with a visually and sonically stunning performance.

With the skill of a global idol, Lisa truly “set the stage on fire.” She transformed into a “ROCKSTAR,” delivering powerful live vocals while flawlessly executing mesmerizing choreography.

Lisa’s stage was impeccably designed with elaborate props and a large crew of dancers, and Lisa was the radiant centerpiece. Her top-tier stage presence and captivating movements made it impossible to look away, focusing all attention on her “New Woman” and “ROCKSTAR” performance. Returning to the VMAs after two years, Lisa showcased a more mature and independent artist side. Even without her BLACKPINK sisters by her side, she shone brightly on the grand stage in the U.S.

Lisa’s VMAs debut left a lasting impression, not only on music fans but also on the stars attending the awards. Down in the audience, A-list celebrities like Taylor Swift, Katy Perry, Sabrina Carpenter, and Camila Cabello couldn’t hide their excitement as they watched her performance.

In addition, Lisa was announced as the winner of the Best K-pop category, surpassing strong competitors including BTS’s Jungkook (with “Seven”), NCT Dream (with “Smoothie”), NewJeans (with “Super Shy”), Stray Kids (with “LALALALA”), and TXT (with “Deja vu”).

This also marks Lisa’s 2nd time winning the VMAs’ Best K-pop as a solo artist, following her previous win in 2022 with the solo track “Money”.
