BLACKPINK’s Lisa, Jennie, Rosé Drop Solo Releases, Jisoo Prioritizes Acting Over Music?

As three BLACKPINK members focus on solo music projects, attention is now turning to Jisoo's solo activities.

On October 2nd at midnight, Rosé shared the news of her first studio album with a post beginning, “My first studio album ‘rosie’ will be released on December 6th.”

She expressed her excitement, “I can’t believe I’m finally announcing the release of my first album.” She added, “For the past year, I’ve been in and out of the studio, working with new songwriters and producers, trying to figure out the next chapter of my life.”

This marks Rosé’s return as a solo artist after three years and nine months, following her March 2021 release, “R”. The news of her upcoming full-length album has thrilled fans, especially as it comes less than a week after announcing her contract with Atlantic Records.

BLACKPINK had announced their group re-signing last year, but each member has since chosen to pursue individual paths, focusing on both solo and group activities. This year, each member has embarked on solo projects.

Lisa kicked off her solo career in June with the release of the digital single “ROCKSTAR.” Following that, Lisa released “New Woman” with Rosalía in August, and she is set to drop a new single titled “Moonlit Floor”, making her the most active member of BLACKPINK in terms of solo releases.

The next member to go solo is Jennie, who is expected to release a new digital single, “Mantra”. Having featured on Zico’s digital single “SPOT!” back in April, Jennie will be returning with her own single after over a year.

Meanwhile, no news of a solo release from Jisoo has been announced. After releasing her first solo single album “ME” in March last year, Jisoo is currently preparing for the release of Coupang Play’s original series “Newtopia”. Jisoo is also set to make her big-screen debut in the upcoming film “Omniscient Reader’s Viewpoint”. With her previous songs “Flower” and “All Eyes On Me” receiving positive reviews, fans are eager to see if Jisoo will release a new solo track before BLACKPINK’s group comeback.
