On the morning of January 16, media oulets reported that BLACKPINK’s Jennie has to face a mishap right on her birthday. In particular, a YouTube channel and TikTok account impersonating Jennie’s self-established label, ODDATELIER, suddenly appeared.
As of the moment, the fake YouTube channel has attracted over 100,000 subscribers and gained considerable views for each uploaded video. Meanwhile, the “fake” TikTok account quickly amassed 40,000 followers.
Additionally, many deceived fans have actively shared promotional posts for the fake YouTube channel and TikTok accounts, even enthusiastically interacting and praising Jennie under each video from these accounts.
On social media platform X (Twitter), fans are actively sharing posts and templates, expressing hope that Jennie will take strong action against the impersonating accounts.
It is noted that the ongoing impersonation issue could have a negative impact on Jennie’s company’s revenue. Furthermore, if the “fake” accounts post negative content, both Jennie and ODDATELIER’s image will undoubtedly suffer.
