BLACKPINK members Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé and Lisa will attend the event for the movie “BLACKPINK WORLD TOUR BORN PINK IN CINEMAS”, which will be held at Times Square in Yeongdeungpo, Seoul on August 9th at 7 PM.
This marks the first time in about 11 months that all four members are participating in an official event together since the finale of their world tour in September last year. They plan to express their gratitude to fans through the “Pink Carpet” and stage greeting.
“BLACKPINK WORLD TOUR BORN PINK IN CINEMAS” is a film capturing the real story of the “BORN PINK” world tour that ended at the Gocheok Sky Dome in Seoul. It is set to be released in over 110 countries, including South Korea, on August 31st.
Earlier, on August 8th, BLACKPINK celebrated their 8th debut anniversary. Before the official event for “BLACKPINK WORLD TOUR BORN PINK IN CINEMAS”, the members held a live stream through Weverse, reflecting on their journey and expressing that it feels like “just yesterday” and reminiscing about the past.
BLACKPINK debuted on August 8th, 2016 with their double title tracks “Whistle” and “Boombayah”, quickly gaining attention. Since then, they have released numerous hit songs like “Playing with Fire”, “As If It’s Your Last”, “DDU-DU DDU-DU”, “Kill This Love” and “Pink Venom”, solidifying their status as a leading K-pop girl group. Notably, their second full album “BORN PINK”, released in 2022, made history as the first K-pop girl group album to top both the U.S. Billboard 200 and the U.K. Official Albums Chart Top 100.
