The Circle Chart (formerly Gaon Chart) released the data for the 38th week of 2022, which include the physical sales, streaming, and digital sales of BLACKPINK, IVE, and NCT 127.
The Korea Music Contents Association (KOMCA), which operates the circle chart, said, “In the 38th week (September 11th to 17th), BLACKPINK’s 2nd full album “BORN PINK” was announced to have sold 2,141,281 physical copies. Since then, they have ranked first among all girl groups in history regarding the first week’s physical sales.”
BLACKPINK was honored with a total of 3 first places, having topped the global Kpop chart for 5 consecutive weeks with “BORN PINK” and the pre-release single “Pink Venom”, at the same time topping the social chart 2.0 for 4 weeks in a row. BLACKPINK’s major keywords include “creating a sensation”, “getting a big response”, “on the rise in popularity”, and so on.
Meanwhile, NCT 127 was the artist who showed the great rise in ranks on the 38th week social chart.
With their title song “After LIKE” in their 3rd single of the same name, IVE ranked first on both the digital and streaming charts for 3 weeks in a row and won 2 gold medals. “After LIKE” is a song about a specific way of loving, saying, “I’ll show you a variety of charms, so now show me your actions, not your heart.”
NCT 127 recently released the title song “2 Baddies” and their 4th full-length album, ranking 1st on the BGM chart and winning 2 gold medals. The song is a hip hop dance track that combines addictive synth sounds and powerful vocals.
On the other hand, the new songs ranked in the top 200 of the global K-pop chart for the 38th week are BLACKPINK’s “Shut Down” (3rd), NCT 127’s “2 Baddies” (54th), etc.
