Industry Insights
Koo Chang-hwan, director of the institute, attributed BLACKPINK’s rise to their continued global influence, noting, “The group’s performance power and online impact remain unmatched in 2025.” Lim Young Woong held steady in second, bolstered by charitable efforts alongside his fandom, while BTS secured third thanks to ongoing fan anticipation.

PSY’s explosive summer comeback with his “SUMMERSWAG” contributed to his strong rise, and Yoo Jae-suk continued to thrive as Korea’s national MC. Despite the high-profile rankings, the institute noted a general decline in big data metrics for star brands:
- Brand Consumption: ▼19.01%
- Brand Issues: ▼7.35%
- Brand Communication: ▼6.12%
- Brand Diffusion: ▼18.73%
Still, the top 100 list reflected a wide range of entertainers, including idols, actors, comedians and athletes — signaling robust fan engagement across Korea’s entertainment industry. As BLACKPINK continues to command both the global stage and local charts, their July triumph reaffirms their superstar dominance in the ever-evolving K-pop and Hallyu landscape.
