Blackpink Jisoo’s Solo Track ‘Flower’ Tops iTunes Charts in 57 Countries

Blackpink’s Jisoo has dominated global charts with her first album ‘ME’.

According to YG Entertainment on the 1st, the title track ‘Flower’ from Jisoo‘s solo album, which was released at 1 pm (Korean time) the previous day, topped the iTunes Worldwide Song Chart. It showed popularity in various countries such as North and South America, Europe, Oceania, and Asia, and reached the top spot in a total of 57 regions.

It also had a big impact on domestic music charts. ‘Flower’ immediately topped Naver Vibe, as well as Melon, Genie, and Bugs real-time charts. In particular, on Melon, which aggregates the usage amount for 24 hours and the number of real-time users, it rose quickly and continued to climb the rankings.

Furthermore, the music video for the title track ‘Flower’ surpassed 37 million views in just 20 hours after being released on YouTube, becoming the “most-watched video within 24 hours in 2023” and instantly reaching the top spot. Blackpink’s official YouTube channel also saw a steep increase in subscribers, surpassing 85.6 million thanks to this success.

Major foreign media outlets such as Billboard in the United States, Rolling Stone in the UK, and NME also covered Jisoo’s solo debut news prominently. NME praised “‘Flower’ is a song that contains elegance and creativity, modern elements and traditional beauty. It is undoubtedly one of the best K-pop songs of the year,” and Billboard pointed out Jisoo’s vocal ability, saying, “Jisoo has truly blossomed. It won’t be long before she achieves a record alongside her fellow Blackpink members.”
