BLACKPINK Jennie shines at Met Gala, dignity of “Human Chanel”

Jennie, a member of BLACKPINK, stuns the crowd with her appearance at the world’s largest fashion charity event, Met Gala.

On May 1st (local time), the world’s largest fashion charity event Met Gala was held at the Metropolitan Museum of Art (the MET) in New York. This year’s theme is “Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty”, and Penélope Cruz, Michaela Coel, Roger Federer, and Dua Lipa served as chairs.

Each time she appears at international events, Jennie wears different makeup styles, making it hard to predict her next appearance. At the 2023 Met Gala, however, the female idol opts for a subtle layout that still accentuates her sharp features.

On this day, BLACKPINK Jennie revealed her first appearance on the Met Gala red carpet. In particular, the female idol showed up in a Chanel white mini dress decorated with white roses. She also added points with chic black details, such as a black sash, black gloves, black stockings, and heels.

The appearance of Jennie was praised by a US media outlet, who described Jennie as a Coachella headliner that has just set another milestone with her Met Gala attendance, as well as a “Human Chanel”.

On the other hand, BLACKPINK is the first Korean girl group to be named as the headliner of the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival. At the same time, BLACKPINK Jennie recently challenged her first acting project through the HBO series “The Idol”. “The Idol” will be screened for the first time at the 76th Cannes International Film Festival’s non-competitive section, which is held from May 16th to 27th.

Meanwhile, the Met Gala invites stars from movies, TV, and music every year. This year, many stars including Jennie, Phoebe Bridgers, Cardi B, Jessica Chastain, Pete Davidson, Doja Cat, Billie Eilish, Gigi Hadid, Anne Hathaway, Kylie Jenner, Kendall Jenner, Kim Kardashian, Ariana DeBose, Nicole Kidman, Jennifer Lopez, Pedro Pascal, Robert Pattinson, Florence Pugh, Margot Robbie, and Olivia Rodrigo attended.
