BLACKPINK Jennie unveiled more information about her past studies in New Zealand.
BLACKPINK is the top Korean girl group including Jennie, Lisa, Rosé, and Jisoo. They are going on the “BORN PINK” World Tour, accumulating 1.5 million audience across continents. Among the BLACKPINK members, Jennie is receiving the most attention.
Recently, a past interview of Jennie is gaining resurgent interest. Because Jennie started her study in New Zealand at the age of 10, the idol could speak English very well early on. During international interviews, she and Rosé frequently exchange with interviewers to ensure a smooth interaction. Moreover, the female rapper also joins the writing of the English parts of BLACKPINK’s songs.
However, in the early days of studying in New Zealand, the idol shared she was most afraid of English. Jennie said, “I really liked rewriting notes, organizing my notebooks, taking notes with different colored pens. It’s not so much the content; it’s the act of organizing that’s fun. I’d first take notes—with a pencil—at school, then at home, I’d rewrite them with colored pens.
My favorite subjects were science and math. I liked learning formulas and inputting data. Partly because English was my second language, I was more scared of English classes. But math and science—if I memorized the formulas, I could use them like Korean.”
The “SOLO” singer also added she received a lot of help from friends with her English studies. She recalled exchanging notes with her classmates. In exchange, she would teach them Korean.
The BLACKPINK member also stated that she still applied learned knowledge from math and science to everyday life, though in a slightly different way.
