According to a report by Maeil Business Star Today on November 6, BLACKPINK has delayed their comeback initially expected within this year to January 2026. The decision was made to enhance the quality of the new release while also aligning with the group’s world tour schedule.

Earlier reports from multiple media outlets suggested that BLACKPINK was preparing for a mid-December comeback. At the time, YG Entertainment responded by saying, “No official date has been set,” but confirmed that the group had completed filming their new music video and were in the final stages of album production, hinting at an imminent return.

“The album is at the last stage to increase musical perfection. As soon as we are ready, we will be able to tell you good news through the official promotion.” – YG Entertainment

BLACKPINK’s last full album was BORN PINK, released in September 2022. If the upcoming album drops in January 2026, it will mark the group’s first full album in over two years. Their latest single “JUMP” was released in July 2025.

In recent years, the group has prioritized solo activities, with each member strengthening their global presence as individual artists. However, since July, BLACKPINK has also been actively touring the globe with their DEADLINE world tour, starting in Goyang. In August, they made history as the first K-pop girl group to headline a solo concert at the iconic Wembley Stadium in the UK.

Industry sources talk about BLACKPINK’s upcoming comeback, teasing collaborations: “It’s about celebrating how far they’ve come, individually and as one. Expect emotional lyrics, bold visuals and collaborations that will surprise even long-time fans.”

Having debuted in August 2016, BLACKPINK is approaching their 10th anniversary in 2026. With the January comeback setting the stage for a celebratory year, fans are eagerly anticipating what could be one of the most significant returns in their career.
