The fake product reportedly used a pink-and-black color scheme identical to BLACKPINK’s branding and even featured a forged brand tag, making it easy for buyers to mistake it for official merch. Fans have called the design offensive and inappropriate, especially considering the group’s large underage fanbase.
Some netizens speculated the viral image could be digitally altered, but regardless, the controversy highlights the lack of quality control and copyright protection in the counterfeit market. In response, Shein has since removed the listing.
