Beating BLACKPINK and SEVENTEEN, Stray Kids wins ‘Best K-Pop’ at MTV Music Awards

Stray Kids won ‘Best K-Pop’ at the 2023 MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs) held in Newark, New Jersey on Sep 13th.

At the 2023 MTV VMAs, Stray Kids received the honor for their title track ‘S-Class’ from their 3rd full album ‘★★★★★ (5-STAR).’

Competing in the ‘Best K-Pop’ category were BLACKPINK with “Pink Venom,” TOMORROW X TOGETHER with “Sugar Rush Ride,” aespa with “Girls,” Fifty Fifty with “Cupid,” and SEVENTEEN with “Super.”

‘S-Class’ is the title track of Stray Kids’ 3rd full album ‘★★★★★ (5-STAR),’ which reached the top of Billboard’s main chart ‘Billboard 200’ after its release in June.

Stray Kids released their first Japanese EP album ‘(Social Path (feat. LiSA)/Super Bowl -Japanese ver.-)’ on September 6th.

According to Billboard Japan’s weekly top album sales chart (September 4-10), the album ranked first with 737,965 copies sold. Prior to this, the album achieved a shipment of 500,000 copies in just one day after its official release. This marked the first time a 4th gen Kpop group exceeded 500,000 pre-orders for a Japanese original album.

Stray Kids will wrap up their large-scale dome tour in four Japanese cities with a total of 8 concerts at Tokyo Dome on October 28-29.
