“Be present at 5am – No eating,” many fandoms are unhappy with “2022 Idol Star Athletics Championships”

While the “2022 Chuseok Special Idol Star Sports Championship” recently released a recording notice, complaints from many idol fandoms are popping up.

On the 25th, AB6IX posted an announcement related to the recording of “2022 Chuseok Special Idol Star Sports Championship” (hereinafter referred to as “Idol Star Athletics Championships – ISAC“).

According to the announcement, the attendance check time is 5:30 a.m. on August 1st, the day of recording, and the gate closing time is 6:10 a.m. The maximum number of participants is 100, but there is a possibility of change depending on the fandom.

AB6IX account said, “Please come 10 minutes before the attendance check time. Attendance checks will start on time, and if you arrive after the attendance check starts, you will be pushed to the back of your seat rank due to being late.”

In particular, “Eating during the recording is prohibited due to quarantine regulations. We ask for your understanding on this part,” the notice added, drawing public outrage from netizens.

Upon hearing the notice, netizens responded, “If they ban eating, fans will starve,” “Shouldn’t they give the fans food when the record is said to be 10 hours long,” “It’s like entering a hunger center to see idols,” and “You can just give them lunch time separately.”

This Chuseok special “Idol Star Athletics Championships” will be held in five events, including track and field (short-distance, relay), archery, dance sports, futsal, and e-sports. Dance sports, a new sport added in 2022, will be joined by Park Ji-eun and Aiki along with the main MC Lee Hong-ki as commentators.

The idol lineup, which has been confirmed to appear through the ISAC banner design application notice, has AB6IX, ATBO, Billie, CIX, DKZ, EPEX, HYNN, ITZY, IVE, MCND, NCT, TAN, TNX, WOODZ (Cho Seung-yeon), WEi, Kwon Eun-bi, Kim Jae-hwan, DKB, DRIPPIN’, Lightsum, Lapillus, Rocket Punch, Bvndit, VERIVERY, Brave Girls, StayC, Stray Kids, Ichillin’, Alice, Everglow, NMIXX, ATEEZ, XDINARY HEROES, N.Flying, Unite, Weeekly, Jeong Se-woon, Jo Yuri, Choi Ye-na, Cherry Bullet, KEP1LER, CLASS:Y, Kingdom, Tempest, Purple Kiss, P1Harmony, Ha Sung Woon,…

However, some fandom are now moving to boycott “Idol Star Athletics Championships” with opinions such as “Why are you doing “Idol Star Athletics Championships” when the pandemic is re-emerging?” and “Idols are injured, while fans who went to see their idol can’t eat properly.”
