On the morning of May 18, Koreaboo reported that BamBam attended the red carpet of the 79th Cannes Film Festival. As one of the few K-pop idols appearing at the prestigious global film event this year, many fans initially expected the singer born in 1997 to create a major media sensation.
However, the public reaction quickly took a very different direction from what fans had anticipated.
Appearing before international media cameras, BamBam chose a sophisticated and classic fashion concept in hopes of making a memorable impression. The singer wore a double-breasted suit paired with trendy wide-leg trousers during his Cannes red carpet appearance.

To complete the luxurious styling, BamBam accessorized the outfit with expensive jewelry pieces and polished leather shoes, creating an overall elegant image.
Despite the fashionable outfit, many netizens believed the styling could not distract from what they described as BamBam’s drastically changed appearance on the red carpet.
Across online forums and social media platforms, viewers expressed shock over the idol’s visuals, with particular attention focused on his noticeably fuller lips. Many online users speculated that BamBam may have undergone excessive lip filler procedures, claiming his lips appeared unusually swollen during the event.

Some critics even harshly described the look as one of the “fashion disasters” of this year’s Cannes red carpet. In addition to the lip controversy, BamBam’s center-parted hairstyle also became a major target of criticism, with many arguing that it made his overall appearance look outdated and awkward.
Online comments quickly flooded social media, with reactions such as: “Why does it look like he injected 127 ml of filler into his lips?”, “Those filler lips look disastrous,” and “What happened to his lips?”
Others criticized his hairstyle, writing, “This is the worst hairstyle for men. It completely ruins his visuals.”
Before debuting as a K-pop idol, BamBam was already a well-known child star in Thailand. Starting from the age of five, he regularly appeared on Thai television through numerous commercials promoting milk, ice cream, candy, KFC, and other products.
After later moving to South Korea, BamBam joined JYP Entertainment as a trainee. He trained for approximately three and a half years before officially debuting as a member of GOT7.

Over the years, BamBam gradually earned recognition for his rap and dance skills, eventually becoming known by many fans as one of GOT7’s strongest performers. Alongside his talent, his unique Thai-inspired visuals also helped him build a massive international fanbase.
Within the K-pop industry, BamBam is also famous for his longtime childhood friendship with Lisa of BLACKPINK.
Lisa and BamBam have reportedly known each other for around 19 years since childhood. The two stars even participated together in Thailand’s LG Entertainer competition and were once part of the same dance team called “We Zaa Cool.”

According to various reports, their families are also close acquaintances. BamBam once shared that Lisa was taller than him when they were younger, leading him to jokingly call her “older sister” despite them being the same age. Their mothers have even been photographed together in the past.
In addition, BamBam was previously swept up in dating rumors involving Jennie from BLACKPINK.
Back in September 2024, eyewitnesses spotted Jennie and BamBam dining together at Sushi Park in Los Angeles, sparking immediate speculation online because the two K-pop stars had rarely publicly interacted before.

Soon afterward, Jennie’s agency ODD ATELIER denied the rumors through Osen, stating, “The dating rumors between Jennie and BamBam are groundless. The two simply met in the United States and had a meal together as close friends.”
Reports later revealed that both stars’ managers were also present during the gathering.
BamBam personally addressed the rumors as well, clarifying: “It wasn’t a romantic relationship. We simply went out and ate together. People always assume I’m dating someone whenever I appear with another person.”
